Help? Controller and Timing Issues

When I try to play any song, the arrows won't register at all, only the main shape buttons (I'm using a DS4). The timing is also ridiculous- I have to get it super exact and it's a lot more picky then other genuine project diva games I've played. Does anyone know how to fix any of these issues? Thanks
